ABOUT THE LIBRARY FUND OF THE NAA

The Library was opened in 1996. This Library, which meets the state-of-the-art requirements, has built its activity pursuant to the demands of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Librarianship”, orders and decrees of the “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC, National Aviation Academy, other legal acts regulating the activity of the library.

The library started its rapid development after the commissioning, and the main focus was on the acquisition of the collection. Each printed product included in our fund is presented with a bibliographic description of all types of publications reflected in the e-catalogue. In total, there are more than 80,000 printed materials (books, magazines, brochures, etc.), more than 16,000 electronic resources in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages in the Library Fund. The Library Fund of the National Aviation Academy has been enriched with scientific-technical, educational-methodical and reference literature. In the current year, the number of readers in the library was 2,974 persons.

The Fund includes materials on Air Transport Flight Operations, Air Transport Maintenance, Electronics, Telecommunications, Radio Technology, Information Technology and Systems, Instrumentation, Ecology, Hydrometeorology, Management, Economics, Law, Navigation, Aviation Engineering, Special Equipment and Instrumentation, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Meteorology, Air Transport Technologies, Process and Production Safety, Air Traffic Management, Aviation, Humanities and Fiction, including Foreign Language and other Textbooks, Teaching Aids, Guidelines, Technical and Regulatory Documentation, Maps and Atlases, as well as other documents.

The NAA Library envisages the introduction of modern information technologies and the creation of a computerised library infrastructure.
Currently, the Academy’s Library is working with Destiny Library Manager (Integrated Library Management System), a product of the American company Follet.
